Kelechi Iheanacho‘s Premier League return appears unlikely, as previously-linked Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to be reconsidering their interest in a January move.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has revealed that Wolves have concerns about the Nigerian striker’s consistency and potential immediate impact.
Iheanacho, 28, joined Sevilla on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City last summer. However, his time in Spain has been underwhelming, with just seven starts and no league goals since his arrival.

“There have been some concerns about his performances,” Brown told Football Insider. “He would have good spells at Leicester and then drop off – I suppose the word I'm looking for is that he was in no way consistent.
“He's gone abroad to Sevilla and that hasn't helped, he's not played well there.”
Will relegation-threatened Wolves sign Iheanacho?
With Wolves currently in the relegation zone, the need for transformative players is critical. Brown expressed skepticism about Iheanacho’s ability to meet those demands.
“Wolves, in the situation they're in at the moment, need players who are going to make an immediate impact and be game-changers for them,” Brown added.

“I don't see Iheanacho as that player, and even though they've been looking at him, I'm not convinced Wolves will either. They'll be weighing up a number of options and I'd expect them to go for somebody else.”
Despite the doubts, Iheanacho’s availability could sway Wolves’ decision. “The one thing on his side, though, is availability. It’s not always easy to find somebody in the January window, so if his club are willing to let him go, maybe they will act on that,” Brown admitted.
