Ligue 1: Marseille face big decision as interest mounts for Tochukwu Nnadi

Published on by

French Ligue 1 side Marseille are expected to make a decision regarding the future of Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi amid interest from several clubs, Afrik-Foot reports.

Nnadi joined Marseille from Zulte Waregem during the January transfer window but has experienced a slow start to his time at the club.

After struggling to break into the matchday squad during his initial weeks, he eventually began to get consistent minutes toward the end of the campaign.

However, Marseille is currently facing significant instability. Head coach Habib Beye’s position is uncertain; following a dismal conclusion to the Ligue 1 season—which saw the club finish fifth and narrowly miss out on Champions League football—a managerial change appears likely.

Consequently, the futures of several players at the club remain uncertain, and Nnadi is reportedly among those who could be on their way out.

Will Nnadi Leave Ligue 1?

According to the Marseille fan page Football Club de Marseille, Nnadi’s future is currently in the balance. But even though he is attracting interest in the transfer market, the club has yet to receive an official bid for his services.

The 22-year-old’s situation is particularly complex. He was signed for his high potential, but Nnadi has had limited opportunities to prove himself on the pitch.

Also, with the ongoing boardroom instability, the club’s strategic priorities may shift, leaving the midfielder in a precarious position.

In the meantime, the identities of the interested clubs is still unknowns. Nonetheless, there should be clarity in the coming weeks.

Having signed Nnadi for €6 million in January, Marseille are expected to hold out for a fee in that range should they decide to sell, as they will be looking to recoup their initial investment.
