Udinese are set to take on Como at the Bluenergy Stadium in the first Serie A game of the season for both sides, Afrik-Foot reports.

Under Kosta Runjaic, Udinese were able to seal a top-half finish in the Italian top-flight league last season, a feat Maduka Okoye played a key role in as he kept 10 clean sheets in 30 games.

Como, meanwhile, punched way above their weight, finishing in 4th place and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, a huge feat, considering they were in the Italian fourth tier just seven years ago.

Maduka Okoye spent most of pre-season on the sidelines nursing a shoulder injury but returned just in time to help them keep a clean sheet in their Coppa Italia round of 64 clash against Padova.

Cesc Fabregas’ Como already have their hands full with Nico Paz, and have brought in Yan Couto from Borussia Dortmund and Trevor Chalobah from Chelsea.

However, if their season starts with a poor start, they could be in for a rough ride, one they’ll be keen to avoid.

With Udinese keen on surpassing their achievements of last season, they’ll do well to put up a fight against Como.
