Samu Omorodion scored a stunning brace as Porto drew 3-3 against Manchester United in their Europa League clash on Thursday night.

Despite a dominant opening 20 minutes from United, the match at Estádio do Dragão took an unexpected turn when Omorodion netted twice, helping Porto overturn a two-goal deficit.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Højlund had initially given the visitors a comfortable lead, but Porto’s resilience, spearheaded by Omorodion, ensured a thrilling contest.

Omorodion shines in Porto's fightback

The Portuguese side found a way back before half-time, as first winger Pepe pulled one back and then Samu Omorodion took over, heading in a João Mário cross to level the score.

Porto grew in confidence, and early in the second half, the young striker scored again, converting a low Pepê cross at the near post to put Porto ahead 3-2.

It marked his seventh goal in five matches since joining Porto from Atlético Madrid.

Substituted in the 77th minute, the Spain U-23 international had 29 touches of the ball, eight of which were inside the Manchester United penalty area. He also completed 13 accurate passes, and recorded five shots, the second-most of all players on the night.

His aerial dominance (five successful of nine attempted) and defensive contributions, including two blocked shots, were vital in Porto's fightback.

United eventually salvaged a point through Harry Maguire’s late header, a result that leaves Omorodion's Porto without a win after two matches in this season's Europa League.
