Victor Osimhen delivered another title-winning performance for Galatasaray on Saturday night as the Nigerian striker scored twice in a dramatic 4-2 comeback victory over Antalyaspor to secure the 2025-26 Turkish Süper Lig crown, Afrik-Foot reports.
The match at Rams Park in Istanbul carried huge importance for the home side, who knew a win would officially confirm a fourth consecutive league title ahead of rivals Fenerbahce.
But Galatasaray’s celebrations were briefly delayed when Antalyaspor stunned the home crowd just before half-time. Midfielder Soner Dikmen broke the deadlock in the 44th minute after a quick attacking move caught the champions-elect exposed at the back.
Galatasaray responded strongly after the break and former Premier League midfielder Mario Lemina brought them level in the 56th minute with a powerful finish from inside the box.
Yet the visitors struck again only six minutes later. Dikmen grabbed his second goal of the night in the 62nd minute to restore Antalyaspor’s lead and silence the stadium once more.
With pressure rising, Osimhen stepped forward in typical fashion. The Super Eagles forward won a penalty in the 66th minute after being brought down inside the area and calmly converted the spot-kick to make it 2-2.
The Super Eagles striker continued to trouble Antalyaspor’s defence throughout the closing stages before completing the comeback in the 88th minute. After chaos erupted inside the penalty area, Osimhen reacted quickest from close range to fire Galatasaray into a 3-2 lead and send the supporters into wild celebrations.
Kaan Ayhan added a fourth goal in stoppage time to seal the victory and confirm Galatasaray as Turkish champions once again.
Osimhen reaches historic Galatasaray milestone
The victory took Galatasaray to 77 points, four ahead of second-placed Fenerbahce with one match left to play, as Okan Buruk’s side secured the club’s 26th league title and a historic fifth star on their crest.
The night also brought another major personal milestone for Osimhen in what has been a remarkable spell in Turkey. The 27-year-old has now scored 15 league goals in 22 Süper Lig appearances this season despite missing several matches in April because of a forearm injury.
Osimhen’s latest brace also moved him level with Galatasaray legend Selçuk İnan on 59 goals for the club. The former Napoli man is now joint 11th in the club’s all-time goals chart, two goals behind ex-Liverpool man Milan Baros who sits in 10th place.
The achievement is even more striking considering the difference in games played. While Selçuk reached that total across 399 appearances between 2011 and 2020, Osimhen has needed only 74 matches to reach the same mark in just two seasons.
Osimhen has now lifted six trophies in his career, including two Super Lig titles and a Turkish Cup in the colours of Galatasaray. Before lifting the Scudetto at Napoli, the Nigeria international claimed the FIFA U17 World Cup and the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
