Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has urged Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to stay at the club beyond this summer, Afrik Foot reports.

The 27-year-old joined the Record Turkish Champions last season on loan, carting away the league’s golden boot, alongside two domestic titles.

In turn, Okan Buruk’s side forked out €75m to secure Osimhen’s services permanently, and the decision has yielded fruit as the forward has scored 54 goals and provided 11 assists in 66 games across all competitions for the Cim Bom Aslan.

His goal record has caught the eye of several big clubs, with Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid keen on the Nigerian’s services.

Dursun Özbek has revealed how much Osimhen elevated the dressing room spirit at RAMS Park, and urged him to shun the noise and continue his football journey in Turkey.

“Osimhen is the player who excites me the most after Metin Oktay among the past centre-forwards who has come to Galatasaray. Extraordinary,” the 76-year-old said in quotes revealed by Oda TV.

““Osimhen does not have an exit clause in his contract. He is a very successful and footballer who will serve Galatasaray for many years,” Ozbek concluded, hinting he wants Osimhen to stay at the club.

The stiker in turn, has revealed he’s very happy with Galatasaray, and is focused on that for the time being.

“I was emotional in the last game, I had a reason. Ever since I’ve been here, we’ve had a great time with the president, the coach, the team, everyone, and my family.

“They make it so easy for us. I’m happy here. I love my club, I love my teacher, I love my fans. We carry out our business in the context of love and respect for reciprocity.

Words aren’t enough. Lovely fans. Beyond football, we have a side that can create a special connection with players.

I’m really happy. I agree with the banner. We’re a family, and family is more important than anything else. I’m with people I love so much at the club I love,” the 2023 CAF Player of the Year concluded.
