Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen delivered another stellar performance with a two goal display as Galatasaray recorded a dominant 4-0 win over Erzurumspor on Friday night, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Super Lig champions had kicked off their title defence with a shock 2-2 draw against Corum last weekend but returned to winning ways with a much improved performance this time around.
Osimhen, who also scored twice in that encounter, netted another brace against Erzurumspor and also provided an assist to take his tally to four goals and one assist in just two games, continuing his stunning start to the season.

Osimhen’s brace helps Galatasaray to first league win of 2026-27
Galatasaray dropped points in their season opener but were determined to return to winning ways and did exactly that in convincing fashion. It took the Turkish champions just 12 minutes to take the lead when Roland Sallai fired home after the ball fell to him inside the box following a corner kick.
Their advantage was doubled eight minutes later when Osimhen, despite being in a good position to shoot, unselfishly played Yunus Akgun through and the Turkish forward made no mistake.
The Super Eagles striker then got his name on the scoresheet for the first time in the game after using his pace and aggressive pressing to intercept a short pass to the goalkeeper before calmly tapping the ball into an empty net.

The Nigerian forward completed his second brace of the season in the 80th minute when he got on the end of a cross from Gabriel Sara.
The goal made it 4-0 and completed a comfortable win for Galatasaray, giving them their first league victory of the 2026-27 campaign.
While the brace was another reflection of Osimhen’s quality in front of goal, it also moved him further up Galatasaray’s rankings of top foreign goalscorers.
Where does Osimhen rank among Galatasaray’s top foreign goalscorers?
The Super Eagles forward only joined Galatasaray in 2024, initially arriving on loan from Napoli before the Turkish giants completed a permanent transfer for a Turkish record €75 million fee last summer.
However, while much of the summer has been dominated by speculation over his future, with the Nigerian international linked with moves to Premier League champions Arsenal and Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, the 27-year-old has continued to do his talking on the pitch.
His first goal against Erzurumspor took his Galatasaray tally to 62 goals before his second goal of the night moved him to 63 goals in just 76 appearances for the club across all competitions.
That tally saw him move past Czech Republic legend Milan Baros, who scored 61 goals in 116 appearances for Galatasaray between 2008 and 2013.
Osimhen now sits third among Galatasaray’s all time foreign goalscorers, behind only Mauro Icardi and Gheorghe Hagi. Icardi remains ahead with 77 goals in 134 appearances, while Hagi scored 72 goals in 172 appearances for the Turkish giants.
Osimhen’s numbers are particularly impressive considering he has played fewer matches than the other players above him on the list.
The Super Eagles striker will now have his sights set on overtaking both Hagi and Icardi if he remains at Galatasaray beyond the current transfer window and he has a realistic chance of becoming the club’s leading foreign goalscorer before the end of the season if he continues his current scoring rate.

Galatasaray will return to Super Lig action against Goztepe next weekend, giving Osimhen another opportunity to close the gap on the two players above him.
