The 2026 summer transfer window has brought plenty of movement for Nigerian footballers, but most of those moves did not translate into major changes in their EA SPORTS FC 27 ratings, Afrik-Foot reports.
EA has now released its initial FC 27 ratings database, giving fans a first look at how Nigerian players are rated ahead of the new game’s September 25 release.
Several of Nigeria’s biggest stars have actually dropped compared with their FC 26 launch ratings.

Osimhen remains Nigeria’s highest-rated male player
Victor Osimhen has gone from an 87 overall rating in FC 26 to 85 in the initial FC 27 database.
The Galatasaray striker remains one of Nigeria’s two highest-rated players alongside Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who retains her 85 rating.
Osimhen’s FC 27 card gives him 89 pace, 84 shooting, 78 dribbling and 86 physicality.
However, his rating should not be interpreted as a reaction to the transfer speculation surrounding his future. Osimhen stayed at Galatasaray despite interest from several major clubs, meaning there has been no completed summer transfer to trigger such a change.

Lookman also drops despite Atletico move
Ademola Lookman has fallen from 84 in FC 26 to 83 in FC 27. The winger’s move to Atletico Madrid was already reflected during FC 26 after his departure from Atalanta, so his latest rating is not a consequence of a 2026 summer transfer.
His FC 27 card currently gives him 86 pace, 83 shooting and 84 dribbling.

Victor Boniface also experienced a notable decline, dropping from 81 to 76 overall.
The striker’s FC 27 numbers include 78 shooting, 77 dribbling and 76 physicality, with his pace rated at just 55.
Again, the drop appears to be more connected to his performances and EA’s assessment of his current level than the summer transfer market.
Transfers have changed clubs, not necessarily ratings
Several Nigerian internationals have changed clubs this summer.
Tolu Arokodare joined Ajax on loan, while players including Chidozie Awaziem, Gift Orban and Kelechi Iheanacho have moved to Turkey. Taiwo Awoniyi has also completed a move from Nottingham Forest to Coventry City.
Yet, EA has made it clear that the current FC 27 database is not necessarily the final version.
The company says the final ratings database update will arrive in September, after the international transfer window closes and the new-season squads are confirmed.
That means some Nigerian players could still have their clubs, positions, ratings or PlayStyles adjusted before the game officially settles.

The initial FC 27 ratings appear to reflect EA’s assessment of players’ performances and abilities rather than simply rewarding or penalising them for changing clubs.
There is still time for that picture to change, though. With the final database update scheduled for September, some of the Nigerian players who completed moves this summer could yet see their new clubs and updated ratings reflected in the finished version of FC 27.
