Osimhen: Transfer guru reveals only consideration for striker’s summer destination

Victor Osimhen’s next move is set to be dictated by financial considerations, with the Nigerian forward unwilling to accept a pay cut.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, the Super Eagles star’s future has been the subject of intense speculation. The Turkish champions are keen to make his stay permanent, but reports suggest their financial situation makes a deal unlikely.

Meanwhile, several clubs across Europe, as well as Saudi Arabian sides, are closely monitoring the situation.

Fabrizio Romano has now shed light on Osimhen’s stance, stating that any club hoping to sign him must meet his current wage demands.

“The player aims to continue with the financial terms of his deal with Napoli, which grants him a net salary of €11-12 million per season. I know this 100%. Whoever meets these conditions will sign Osimhen,” Romano said on Viva el Futbol.

Osimhen’s failed Saudi move and renewed Premier League interest

Romano also revealed that Osimhen was close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli before his move to Galatasaray. However, Napoli’s last-minute decision to raise their asking price saw the deal fall through.

The 26-year-old’s name is set to dominate the summer transfer window, with Premier League sides Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Chelsea among those monitoring his situation. Interest from Saudi Arabia has also not disappeared.

Osimhen has been in prolific form at Galatasaray, scoring 19 goals and providing five assists in 24 games, and is on course to challenge his career-best tally of 31 goals from the 2022/23 season.

Napoli have no intention of keeping Osimhen and are eager to cash in. With his release clause reportedly reduced to £60 million, interest from England has reignited.

His wage demands, however, could pose a stumbling block for any club looking to sign him.
