According to reports from the Italian media, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has declined offers from Arsenal, highlighting his strong preference for a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The English club have long been admirers of the 25-year-old, viewing him as the ideal forward to solve this inefficiency and help the Premier League runners-up get over the line.
Despite possessing a strong strike force, Arsenal's offensive line faces challenges, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah struggling to consistently find the back of the net.
However, according to Il Mattino via Calcio Napoli24, the Nigerian striker, who has been a prime target for several European giants, is now focused on a potential move to the French capital, fueling further speculation about his future.
The report further indicates that Osimhen remains unconvinced by Arsenal's project and would prefer a move to France, a country where he previously played before joining Napoli four years ago.
Is Osimhen's Premier League ambition coming to an end?
Osimhen has long expressed his admiration for the Premier League and his ambition to play in England’s top flight. Despite significant interest from English clubs, notably Arsenal and Chelsea, his dream of joining the Premier League may be slipping away.
Both clubs have been heavily linked with the Nigerian international; however, neither has met Napoli's substantial asking price of €130 million. Although Napoli has shown some flexibility, they are reportedly not willing to lower their demands below €100 million.
Chelsea explored alternative options, including a potential loan and swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku, but this proposal was rejected by Osimhen's representatives. His agent, Roberto Calenda, has criticised the speculative nature of the reports surrounding these negotiations.
On Twitter/X, Calenda responded to the rumours by stating, “I’ve read about unfounded imaginary trades involving Victor, shipped around like a package ready for delivery. But remember that this ‘package’ is the top scorer of the third scudetto in Naples’ history. Respect and no more fake news!”
