Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will be looking for a more productive outing when Galatasaray take on Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The Turkish champions will face the German side in their fourth Champions League game of the campaign as they look to build on their first win of the competition in their previous outing.
Galatasaray suffered two consecutive defeats in their opening two games against Sporting CP and Barcelona before bouncing back with an impressive 4-2 victory over Lille.

Osimhen was on target in that encounter, scoring against his former club to open his European campaign for the season. It was a welcome response after his disappointing performance in Galatasaray’s 4-1 defeat to Barcelona in October.
Against the Spanish champions, the Super Eagles striker struggled to make an impact and was largely ineffective throughout the game. He also failed to provide the attacking threat expected of him, making it a night to forget for the Nigerian forward.
However, Osimhen will be hoping to learn from that performance, improve his contribution and add to his goal tally when Galatasaray face Stuttgart. There are two particular mistakes from the Barcelona defeat that he cannot afford to repeat.

2 mistakes Osimhen made against Barcelona and must avoid against Stuttgart
1. Poor timing of runs behind the defence
One major mistake Osimhen made against Barcelona was his inability to time his runs properly against the Spanish side’s high defensive line.
The Super Eagles striker was caught offside six times, setting an unwanted record for the most offsides by a player in the Champions League this season.
It was an uncharacteristically poor performance from the Nigerian striker, who is usually very good at reading defensive movements and timing his runs. His repeated runs into offside positions also summed up his frustrating evening against Barcelona.
Stuttgart could present a similar challenge, as the German side are also known for playing a high defensive line and applying intense pressure on their opponents. This could leave little room for Osimhen to operate if he fails to get his movement right.
He must learn from his Barcelona experience by being more patient, reading the defenders’ positioning and choosing the right moments to make his runs. Better timing will allow him to exploit the space behind Stuttgart’s defence and use his pace to trouble their backline.

2. Lack of composure in attacking situations
Another area Osimhen must improve is his decision-making in the final third. The Nigerian striker struggled to make the most of his attacking opportunities against Barcelona and failed to show the composure needed to turn promising situations into clear chances.
Against Stuttgart, he must avoid trying too hard to force things in front of goal. While his desire to score and help his team is understandable, he needs to recognise when to take a shot, when to hold up the ball and when to bring his teammates into play.
The Super Eagles forward will be facing Stuttgart for the first time in his career, and he will be hoping to maintain his impressive record against German opposition in the Champions League.
In his two previous meetings with German sides, both against Eintracht Frankfurt during his time at Napoli, the Nigerian striker scored three goals in two appearances.
He will be looking to carry that scoring form into Tuesday’s encounter, with the passionate atmosphere at the Istanbul arena expected to provide an extra boost for Galatasaray.

Osimhen, who has established himself among Galatasaray’s most prolific goalscorers, will also be eager to add to his tally for the season and continue his fine form for the Turkish champions.
The game will take place at RAMS Park on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 6:45 pm West African Time.
