Osimhen transfer: Galatasaray taxing sponsors to fund monster bid

Galatasaray are reportedly making ambitious plans to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal after the Nigerian star's outstanding performance on loan from Napoli has captured fans' hearts and the club’s attention.

Despite joining the Turkish champions temporarily, Osimhen's impressive form has sparked hopes of a historic bid to keep the Super Eagles sensation in Istanbul.

At RAMS Park, the 24-year-old striker has immediately made himself at home. In nine games, he has scored four goals and provided four assists, including a game-winning goal against Besiktas.

This remarkable impact has driven Galatasaray's top brass, led by club president Dursun Özbek, to explore ways of making his stay permanent.

However, Galatasaray currently lack a purchase option in Osimhen’s loan deal.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Galatasaray's management is preparing a record-breaking offer of up to €50 million to acquire Osimhen permanently during the January transfer window.

“Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek requested that a historic budget be created with all sponsors in order to purchase Victor Osimhen's transfer fee,” the report stated.

“The management's main plan is to prepare an offer package that could reach at least the level of 50 million euros with long terms and various bonuses.”

This would represent a significant push for the club, who hope to avoid competing with other suitors such as Chelsea and Arsenal for the striker’s signature.

Osimhen's loan deal with Galatasaray includes a €75 million release clause, a hefty fee for the Super Lig giants.

Yet, with backing from sponsors, the Turkish side believes they can secure him at the lower offer limit by January, allowing them to retain a striker who has already become a fan favourite.

Should Galatasaray’s offer materialise, it could mark the biggest transfer deal in the club's history, sealing Osimhen’s place as a long-term asset in their pursuit of domestic and European success.
