Premier League move on the cards? Akor Adams responds

Published on by

Super Eagles and Sevilla striker Akor Adams has played down talks linking him with a move to the English Premier League this summer, Afrik Foot reports.

The 26-year-old moved to Spain in January 2025, but injuries didn’t allow him to enjoy the first six months in Seville.

However, the start of the 2025/2026 season sparked life into Adams’ career, as he scored against Barcelona, debuted for the Super Eagles, and became a key part of Eric Chelle’s plan at the AFCON 2025 tournament, going home with a bronze medal.

Sevilla are in a battle to stay in La Liga after a poor campaign. Los Rojiblancos parted ways with Matias Almeyda after a succession of bad results.

They hired Luis Garcia to help them steady a sinking ship. The Spaniard coach came in and immediately opted to play Gerard Romero and Neal Maupay in attack, leaving Akor Adams on the fringes of the Sevilla setup.

As such, reports linking the ex-Montpellier man away from Spain have surfaced, but he’s come out to quell such.

“No, no, I have not paid attention to anything. I do not focus on those things because they do not matter right now,” the Benue-born forward said in an interview with Footy Africa.

“I am only looking forward to finishing the season strongly with my club. My teammates and I are fully focused on the team at the moment.

“The goal now is to keep the club in the league and hopefully finish the season in double digits in terms of goals.

“That is the focus for now. I do not pay attention to the news because my concentration is on ending the season well,” Akor Adams concluded.

Sevilla are currently 17th on the La Liga table, a point above the relegation zone with four league games left to play.
