Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is pleased with his goal on Thursday night that helped Rangers earn a point away at Greek club Olympiakos in the Europa League.
Ayoub El-Kaabi opened the scoring in the 56th minute for Olympiakos before the Nigerian striker netted the equaliser for Rangers in the 67th minute, securing a draw.
Dessers, who started the game for Rangers, believes his team can perform even better in the competition and hopes his goals will make a meaningful contribution.
“I think we were close in midfield a few times, then Vaclav got his foot in and made an interception, sending me through,” Dessers explained.
“I saw the defender coming, so I faked a little as if I was going to shoot early, then I could chop him, take the ball past, and had a nice finish—it dropped in the bottom corner.
“It went fast, on instinct, so I’m happy with the goal.”
