New season, same problems: Rangers fans hammer Dessers for ‘hall of shame’ Man Utd display

Tension is mounting at Ibrox as Rangers fans express their growing dissatisfaction with Cyriel Dessers.

The Nigerian forward, who arrived at the club from Cremonese last year with high expectations, has apparently not met fans' standards, leading to growing calls for the club to consider selling him.

The situation was further exacerbated by the Gers' 2-0 loss to Manchester United in a preseason friendly last Saturday at Murrayfield. This second preseason defeat has intensified the frustration within the fanbase.

His performance against Manchester United was marred by missed opportunities, as he struggled to connect with his teammates and retain possession. Dessers was substituted in the 76th minute, making way for Danilo.

In recent weeks, Dessers has been the subject of transfer speculation linking him with moves to Greek side PAOK and more recently, Italian outfit Cagliari. There have also been reported interests from clubs in Spain, France, and Saudi Arabia.

However, the 29-year-old has expressed his desire to remain at Ibrox rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.
