Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez has revealed what a call-up to the Super Eagles squad means to him, Afrik Foot reports.
The 24-year-old has taken the Scottish top-flight league by surprise this season, scoring six goals in 27 games for the Gers after arriving from Peterborough United last summer.
Born in London, the right-footed defender is the youngest of eight children in a Nigerian household.

Nigeria will play against Costa Rica, Jordan and Iran in a four-nation tournament during the March International break.
The competition, originally selected to be hosted in the middle East was moved to Turkiye after concerns about the players’ safety surfaced, due to the ongoing war between America and Iran.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, released a 23-man squadlist for the tournament, and Fernandez was one of the three new faces in the coach’s selection.

“When the call came in from Nigeria, I couldn’t say no,” the Rangers defender said about his call-up in quotes revealed by Rangers Review.
“There was no way I would turn down a chance to play for a great football nation like Nigeria.
“The idea is to go in there and try and make my mark,” Emmanuel Fernandez concluded.
