‘Even Real Madrid cannot afford Victor Osimhen’ – Former world transfer record holder laments

The topic of Victor Osimhen’s transfer destination remains a hot one, with many keen to lend their voices.

The latest to give his take is Real Madrid legend and 2001 Ballon d’Or winner Luis Figo. The former Portugal international, who at the time of his transfer to los Blancos was the most expensive player in the world, has offered some advice to the Napoli striker, who is currently assessing his options in the market.

Osimhen has turned down numerous offers from Saudi giants Al Hilal who, on Wednesday, held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.

Figo: Victor Osimhen can easily score 50 goals there

Speaking on Spanish TV as picked up by Turkish outlet Yeni Akit, Figo urged Osimhen to reconsider the offer from Al Hilal, and ruled out the possibility of his former club Madrid entering the conversation.

“There is no need for Osimhen when you have Mbappe. Mbappe will once again be deployed at the far end. Osimhen can't play while Mbappe is there.

“Many clubs from Saudi Arabia want him. I think Osimhen should go to Al Hilal. He's got a good structure there and he can easily score 50 goals in a season. I don't think he's going to go to a team in Europe. No team, including Real Madrid, can give the numbers he wants.”

The Nigeria international is believed to have a number of suitors in Europe, however, with the likes of Juventus and Liverpool still linked.
