Real Madrid eyeing €110 million move for Victor Osimhen

Real Madrid are closely watching Victor Osimhen as they look for a new striker who can lead their attack in the coming years, Afrik-Foot reports.

The former Lille forward is enjoying an impressive season at Galatasaray, where he has once again shown his ability to score goals regularly. His form has attracted interest from several major clubs across Europe.

At the Santiago Bernabéu, club officials believe the squad could benefit from adding a powerful centre-forward who can make the difference inside the penalty area, according to Fichajes. The idea is to bring in a proven goalscorer who can help the team continue to dominate both in La Liga and in European competitions such as the UEFA Champions League.

Among the many names being studied by the club’s sporting department, Victor Osimhen has quickly become one of the most talked about options.

The 27-year-old striker has built a reputation as one of the most dangerous forwards in world football. His speed, physical strength and instinct in front of goal make him a nightmare for defenders. He is also known for attacking space quickly and scoring important goals in big matches.

Because of these qualities, Real Madrid believe he could fit perfectly into their attacking system. The club wants a striker who can become a long-term reference in the team’s forward line, and Osimhen’s experience at the highest level makes him an attractive candidate.

However, signing him would not be cheap. Reports suggest any deal could cost between €80 million and €110 million, reflecting both his ability and his strong reputation in the transfer market.

But while the interest from Real Madrid is real, completing such a transfer may not be as simple as it sounds.

Why a Victor Osimhen transfer could be difficult

According to transfer market expert Lara Karacan, Victor Osimhen’s situation in the transfer market is more complicated than many fans realise.

Karacan explained that Osimhen’s value is not only about his goals on the pitch.

“Osimhen is a brand,” she said on the Transfermarkt Market Values podcast. “He is not only a player – he is a figure in football.”

That status helps keep his market value high. In fact, across the entire Turkish league, no player comes close to matching his price tag.

But that same high valuation also creates a problem. With Galatasaray reportedly unwilling to sell for less than €100 million, only a few clubs in Europe could realistically afford the deal.

There are also other complications. Osimhen moved from SSC Napoli to Galatasaray for around €75 million in 2025, and part of the agreement reportedly includes a clause that makes selling him to another Italian club difficult. This means a move within Serie A, where Juventus have been linked, would trigger a financial penalty.

That effectively removes Italy as a likely destination.

Karacan believes the only league that might comfortably afford such a deal is the Premier League.

“I think the only league that can afford that is the Premier League,” she said. “And there were literally no rumours.”

While Osimhen’s statistics in Turkey remain strong, including 11 goals in 18 league matches this season, Karacan believes he must prove himself again on the biggest stage to convince the richest clubs.

When we look at the big games, he didn’t show himself as Osimhen should,” she said. “He has to show himself on the highest stage – and that is the Champions League.”

Few can argue that Osimhen is doing just that. The Super Eagles striker has seven goals and three assists in the Champions League this term and is on the verge of inspiring Galatasaray to a first Champions League quarter finals spot in more than a decade.

The summer could be another busy one for Victor Osimhen with Arsenal and Manchester United also reportedly reviving their interest in the forward.

German giants Bayern Munich are also believed to be targeting Osimhen as a long-term replacement for star man Harry Kane.
