Talks of Galatasaray securing a permanent deal for Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen have been brushed off as “fake news,” as sources confirm the Super Eagles forward intends to move on after his loan spell.
According to TEAMtalk, any hopes Galatasaray may have had of keeping him seem unlikely, as Osimhen eyes a future elsewhere.
While some reports suggested he could leave Turkey in January, Osimhen has reassured fans he intends to honor his loan term.
His goal appears to be a Premier League transfer next season, making a permanent stay at Galatasaray complicated if the club aimed to extend his stay.
Chelsea’s interest on hold
Chelsea remains interested in Osimhen, though their pursuit may hinge on the form of their current forward, Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson, who struggled last season, has now hit six goals and provided three assists in ten matches. Even if Chelsea’s interest wanes, Osimhen is expected to have no shortage of offers.
Since arriving on loan in September, Osimhen has become a star in Okan Buruk’s side. The Lagos-born forward has tallied four goals and four assists in just seven games, delivering consistent performances in the Super Lig and quickly settling into the team.
Averaging 69 minutes per match, Osimhen has been directly involved in a goal or assist in each appearance, underscoring his role as a major asset in Galatasaray’s season so far.
However, securing a permanent deal for Osimhen would be a financial challenge for Galatasaray. Napoli inserted a €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract, a fee well beyond the Turkish club's record transfer outlay of €18 million for Gabriel Sara.
