Reports from Italy suggest that Napoli may still have an opportunity to include Victor Osimhen in their roster, despite having submitted their final squad list for the season on Sunday, which initially excluded him.
The Nigeria striker was strongly linked with a move away from the Diego Maradona Stadium during the summer transfer window, with Premier League side Chelsea and Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli both expressing keen interest.
However, despite their efforts, neither club was able to finalise a deal before the window closed on Friday night.

Despite the lack of a transfer, Osimhen remains a Napoli player for now. However, he is not currently part of Antonio Conte's plans, having not featured for the Italian club in the opening weeks of the season due to his relationship with the club being ‘broken'.
Can Napoli still include Victor Osimhen in their season roster?
Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that there is still a loophole Napoli can exploit to include the 25-year-old striker in their squad for the season.
Even after submitting their squad lists, clubs in Serie A are allowed to make two changes to their squads, with no time restriction.
With the Nigeria inernational's number still available, there is a possibility that he could still contribute to Napoli's campaign, although that would require conciliatory overtures from both parties, as well as a meeting between Osimhen and Conte to clear the air.
Earlier reports indicated that Victor Osimhen's jersey number was reassigned to new signing Romelu Lukaku.
However, Lukaku, who made his debut for the Naples club following his £38 million move from Chelsea last week, wore jersey No. 11 rather than Osimhen's No. 9 as previously speculated.
