Report: Samuel Chukwueze demands Fulham move as AC Milan return draws near

Published on by

Super Eagles attacker Samuel Chukwueze has confirmed that he would love to join Fulham if the club offers him a permanent contract, Afrik-Foot reports.

Chukwueze joined the Cottagers from AC Milan on a season-long loan deal last summer. At the time, he was deemed surplus to requirements in Milan and had to make the move to secure more playing time.

So far, the transfer has turned out to be a successful one. The 26-year-old winger, who turns 27 later this month, has contributed three goals and four assists in 22 Premier League games.

However, most of those involvements came in the first half of the campaign, as he has not contributed to a goal since January 24.

With the campaign drawing to a close, Chukwueze’s career is in the balance again, as Fulham have been hesitant to make his deal permanent.

Although the Cottagers have a €24 million buy option, they haven’t triggered it yet. In fact, a recent report suggested that they are negotiating a reduced fee for the Super Eagles star.

But in the meantime, Chukwueze has taken the initiative.

Samuel Chukwueze Tells Fulham To Give Him a Contract

Ahead of Fulham’s Premier League fixture against Bournemouth at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Samuel Chukwueze spoke to journalists.

The Super Eagles star confirmed that his loan would expire at the end of the season, but he noted that he would love to sign permanently for Fulham.

Chukwueze admitted that he loves the environment, the feel of English football, and his teammates.

”I’m really enjoying my football here & I feel very happy at Fulham. From the moment I arrived, I felt something good. The environment, the players, the staff—everything just felt right for me,” Chukwueze said, per Jack Kelly.

”If it were up to me, I would say I want to stay. I’ve already decided that I’d like to remain at Fulham. It’s what I want, but I can’t make it happen on my own. It’s up to the people at the head of the table.”

It is unusual for players to come out and categorically state that they want to switch clubs, so the impact of Chukwueze’s comments remains to be seen.

Unfortunately for him, his lack of goal involvements since January has definitely affected his chances.

Nonetheless, it appears that coach Marco Silva genuinely likes him, which could be the catalyst for a deal.
