Chukwueze: Spiralling Milan set bargain asking price for inconsistent winger

Published on by

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze’s time at AC Milan appears to be coming to an end, with reports in Italy suggesting that the club is ready to part ways with him.

The former Villarreal star has struggled to make an impact in Milan and has been on the fringes of the squad during what has been a disappointing campaign for the Rossoneri.

Chukwueze arrived at Milan in the summer of 2023, but after 18 months, his time at the San Siro looks set to be cut short.

The Nigerian’s contract was originally set to run until 2028, but the club is reportedly looking to offload him and cut their losses.

This season, he has made 22 Serie A appearances, scoring three goals.

In the Champions League, he has failed to find the net in seven matches, while he has managed two goals in the Coppa Italia.

Chukwueze not a part of Milan's future plans

Samuel Chukwueze is no longer in AC Milan’s plans, and the club is looking to sell or loan him out at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri have placed a price tag of around €15 million, with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2026. However, if a club wants an immediate and permanent transfer, Milan will peg the transfer fee at around €18 million.

Milan’s decision to sell the Nigerian is aimed at securing a capital gain from his departure, as he has not lived up to expectations since his arrival from Villarreal.

Chukwueze has attracted interest from England, with Aston Villa reportedly monitoring his situation closely.

The Premier League club is managed by Unai Emery, who previously coached Chukwueze at Villarreal and played a key role in his development.
