West Bromwich Albion striker Josh Maja is attracting interest from La Liga clubs Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo.
The Super Eagles forward has been in fine form for the Championship side and is reportedly valued at £16 million.
According to SuperDeporte, Celta Vigo are reportedly leading the race for Maja, with Real Sociedad keeping tabs on the situation ahead of the January transfer window.
Both clubs are looking to strengthen their attacking options and see the 25-year-old as a suitable candidate.
Maja: West Midlands revival for Super Eagles hopeful
Maja has been pivotal for West Brom this season, contributing nine league goals in 15 appearances. His recent performances, including a vital equalizer against Luton Town and a match-winning strike versus Hull City, helped end the Baggies’ eight-game winless streak.
The former Sunderland youngster’s efficiency in front of goal is reflected in a 26% conversion rate, with all his nine goals coming from inside the box.
Remarkably, he has scored with a variety of finishes: four headers, three with his left foot, and two with his right.
Despite missing nine big chances, Maja's xG of 8.25 underlines his positioning and instincts in the box. He also contributes to the team creatively, registering one assist, five big chances created, and maintaining 78% passing accuracy. Defensively, he recovers possession 2.1 times per game and rarely gets dribbled past.
Maja’s form has yet to earn him a recall to the Nigerian national team, where he has not featured since his debut in 2019.
This has sparked debates about his exclusion from the Super Eagles given his consistent performances in England.
