Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has undergone successful surgery to correct a fractured forearm, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 27-year-old forward sustained the injury during Galatasaray’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the second leg of their Round of 16 clash at Anfield last week.
Following the incident, Galatasaray granted him a brief break, during which he returned to Nigeria. However, the Super Eagles star arrived back at the club’s base on Sunday and underwent the procedure on Monday morning.

Reports from Turkish media showed Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk and president Dursun Ozbek visiting the hospital, where they confirmed that the surgery was a success.
The former Napoli man had previously hinted that this injury was relatively minor compared to past setbacks, such as the severe jaw fracture he suffered in 2021.
As such, he is expected to return to action soon. However, in the meantime, there have been many questions regarding the Nigerian’s exact recovery timeline.
When Will Victor Osimhen Return to Action?

The pressing question remains: when will Victor Osimhen be back? This is a crucial stretch of the season where top clubs need their best players, and it would be a significant blow if Galatasaray were forced to navigate the run-in without their talisman.
The Turkish giants were knocked out of the Champions League last week, with Liverpool manager Arne Slot even admitting that the Nigerian’s absence made the task easier for his side.
On the domestic front, however, the Cimbom are still chasing a double—the Süper Lig and the Turkish Cup.
In the Süper Lig, they have established a four-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand. But with arch-rivals Fenerbahce expected to push them until the final day, Osimhen’s presence will be vital.

According to reports from HT Spor, the Super Eagles star is projected to spend at least six to eight weeks on the sidelines. This would place his earliest return date at the beginning of May.
However, the Galatasaray hierarchy is reportedly doing everything possible to hasten his recovery in hopes of having him fit for the high-stakes intercontinental derby against Fenerbahce on April 26.
Oshimen has a history of returning ahead of schedule from physical setbacks. Galatasaray fans will be hoping the Super Eagles star can pull off another quick recovery to lead their title charge.
