Super Eagles transfer: How much it will cost Al Fateh, Al Taawoun to sign Ibrahim Olawoyin

Two-cap Super Eagles midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin has emerged as a target for two Saudi Pro League sides, Al Fateh and Al Taawoun, Afrik-Foot reports.

As per Footy Africa, Rizespor raised their asking price for Olawoyin to €2.5 million following interest from the Saudi clubs.

That figure could determine how quickly the transfer develops, particularly because Olawoyin is keen to leave Rizespor and has already made his desire for a fresh challenge clear.

Rizespor’s decision to increase Olawoyin’s asking price is directly linked to the competition for his signature.

Al Fateh’s interest has allowed the Turkish club to demand more for a player who remains under contract and has established himself as an important part of their squad.

A reliable source close to the situation told Footy-Africa that Rizespor have now placed a €2.5m valuation on the Nigerian.

That means neither Al Fateh nor Al Taawoun can expect to secure Olawoyin for a reasonable fee simply because he is keen to leave.

Why Ibrahim Olawoyin wants the move

The biggest factor working in favour of a transfer is the player’s position. Olawoyin is understood to be eager to leave Rizespor, with a source close to the situation saying he “really wants to leave”.

That desire could help negotiations if Rizespor eventually decide that reaching an agreement is preferable to keeping a player who wants a new challenge.

However, Olawoyin’s preference does not automatically reduce the transfer fee. Rizespor still control the negotiations, and their decision to increase the asking price to €2.5m shows that they intend to protect their financial interests.

Much will depend on whether Al Fateh or Al Taawoun are prepared to meet the valuation quickly.

For now, Rizespor have set the terms. Olawoyin wants a new challenge, Al Fateh have shown interest, and Al Taawoun are also in the picture, but before the Super Eagles midfielder can make the move, one of the Saudi clubs will have to decide whether he is worth the €2.5m price tag.
