Super Falcons goalkeeper plays heroine in Coupe de France classic

Super Falcons star, Chiamaka Nnadozie, put up a penalty-saving masterclass to help Paris FC edge past Paris Saint-Germain to clinch the Coupe de France Féminine, their first major title in 19 years.

Played at the Stade de l’Épopée in Calais, this was the first-ever all-Paris final in the women’s competition. Locked at 0–0 after normal time, the match descended into the chaos of penalties, where Nnadozie emerged as the match-winner.

She saved two spot-kicks to seal a 4–2 shootout victory, ending a near two-decade wait for silverware for Paris FC.

For the former Rivers Angels youngster, it was more than just another win. It marked her first trophy in Europe, and potentially her last act in a Paris FC shirt, with reports linking the Super Falcons No.1 to a summer move to Everton in the WSL. A pre-contract is said to be in place.

Super Falcons’ Nnadozie stood tall when it mattered most

Last season, it was heartbreak against the same opposition. PSG knocked Paris FC out of the semi-finals on penalties. This time, Nnadozie flipped the script with two crucial saves, a performance that reminded us of her status as one of the finest goalkeepers in the women’s game.

The 24-year-old has kept 11 clean sheets in 18 league appearances this season, earning another nomination for the best goalkeeper award in France’s D1 Arkema.

After five seasons in France, a trophy has finally arrived. If the Everton move goes through, she leaves not just with a medal but with memories that will last.
