The Super Falcons kicked off their 2024 Paris Olympics campaign against Brazil on Thursday evening.
Nigeria had failed to qualify for the previous three editions of this tournament, and their most recent outing was in 2008.
Despite being the underdogs, Randy Waldrum‘s troops held their own against Brazil for the most part. They had a couple of great chances in the first half, but were unable to capitalise on them.
Despite their best efforts, the Super Falcons fell to the Seleção by a solitary goal, courtesy of Gabi Nunes' 37th-minute strike.
With that in mind, Nigerians did not hesitate to share their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).
What next for the Super Falcons?
Nigeria's Super Falcons find themselves at the bottom of the Group C table. With just two games left to play, they will need all the points they can get.
This is easier said than done, considering Nigeria's next two matches are against Spain and Japan.
