Terem Moffi: What OGC Nice castaway said after Porto’s painful Portuguese Cup exit

Terem Moffi took to social media to rally his teammates following their exit from the Portuguese Cup on Wednesday evening, Afrik-Foot reports.

The Dragons locked horns with city rivals Sporting CP in the second leg of the tournament’s semifinal. Entering the match, Porto faced an uphill battle after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the Estádio José Alvalade.

Unfortunately, the night did not go as planned. Super Eagles striker Moffi began the match on the bench but was introduced as a second-half substitute.

Despite Porto’s dominance — recording 18 goal attempts compared to the visitors’ paltry three — they failed to find the back of the net as the game ended goalless.

The loss dealt a significant blow to the Dragons’ pursuit of a historic treble, coming just a week after their exit from the Europa League.

Following the match, Moffi shared a photo of the squad on Instagram to encourage the team, captioning it: “Together until the end!”

Porto will now shift their focus to the Primeira Liga, where they currently sit at the summit with 79 points from 30 games, holding a seven-point lead over second-placed Sporting CP.

Terem Moffi’s Future Hanging in the Balance

Terem Moffi joined Porto on a half-season loan from OGC Nice during the January transfer window. This move followed an altercation with fans that left the striker hospitalized.

On Tuesday, Nice’s co-president Maurice Cohen confirmed that the Super Eagles star would not return to the club once his loan expires.

Now, while this guarantees his departure from Les Aiglons this summer, his next destination remains uncertain.

Given that his playing time has been heavily restricted under the current management, it appears he is no longer viewed as a key figure.

Consequently, a permanent move to his current club seems unlikely. Nonetheless, with his proven track record in Ligue 1, he is certain to attract suitors. The big question remains: where will he be playing his football next season?
