Udinese have officially announced the mutual termination of Isaac Success‘ contract, ending the the Nigeria international's second spell with the Serie A club.

Success, who returned to Udinese from Watford in the summer of 2021, is now a free agent after being deemed surplus to requirements by the Bianconeri.

The 2013 Under-17 World Cup winner joined the Italian side after a mixed spell in the Premier League with Watford. Over three seasons with the Italian side, Success made 83 appearances, including 41 starts in Serie A, contributing six goals and 17 assists.

Despite his efforts, Success found himself on the fringes of the squad this season, having not featured in Udinese’s first three matches of the campaign.

Out-of-favor Nigeria international Isaac Success weighs next move

The arrivals of forwards Lorenzo Lucca, Damián Pizarro, Iker Bravo, and Alexis Sánchez during the summer transfer window further diminished Isaac Success’s prospects of regular playing time.

Consequently, both the club and the player have opted for a mutual parting of ways, allowing the latter to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Success has represented Nigeria extensively at youth level and earned his senior debut in 2017 in a friendly against Senegal. However, a combination of injuries and loss of form has seen him fall out of favor with the Super Eagles, with his last international appearance coming in 2018.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a career that has seen him play in La Liga with Granada, Premier League with Watford, and Italy’s Serie A with Udinese—all clubs owned by the Pozzo family, who have become a football dynasty with interests across multiple European leagues.

Now a free agent, Success has the flexibility to assess his next move without the pressure of the transfer window deadline, giving him time to make a calculated decision about his future in football.
