Nigeria international Victor Boniface has suffered the indignity of being voted one of the leading flops of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season.
The yearly vote, organised by reputable outlet Kicker and based on an anonymous survey of players in the German top flight, saw the Bayer Leverkusen striker finish third, with 6.9% of the total ballots cast.
Top of the flop list was Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha with 13.4%, while Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt polled 10.2%.

Victor Boniface for sale for €50 million
It has been a difficult campaign for Boniface, who in his first season with Bayer Leverkusen quickly established himself as a fan favourite.
The 24-year-old inspired der Werkself to a historic double in 2023/24, but only managed 11 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions this past term. He also suffered an injury-hit year, starting only 12 Bundesliga matches, and losing his place in the starting lineup even when fit.

There were a number of incidents off the pitch as well, and in January he was on the brink of a transfer to Saudi club Al Nassr. The move, however, fell through at the last minute.
Bayer Leverkusen have stated that they are willing to part with Boniface, and have reportedly set a €50 million asking price.
