Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most followed players, according to a new ranking by influencer agency Netzschreier.
Boniface had a stellar 2023/24 campaign, during which he served as the focal point in attack for a Leverkusen side that stunned perennial domestic champions Bayern Munich to clinch a maiden Bundesliga title, adding the DFB-Pokal for good measure.
To that thrilling and glorious run, the 24-year-old contributed 21 goals and 10 assists. However, Boniface endured a challenging 2024/25 season, registering just 10 goals and a single assist across 26 appearances, with an average of 51 minutes played per match.

His campaign was further marked by losing his regular starting position to Patrik Schick. Despite this, defied expectations off the pitch by becoming one of the most followed Bundesliga players on social media—proof that charisma, talent, and potential can resonate even when the goals dry up.
Where does Boniface rank among Bundesliga’s most popular stars?
Victor Boniface secured third place among Bundesliga players in social media follower growth for the 2024/25 season, gaining approximately 302,000 new fans, according to the influencer agency Netzschreier.
In the previous ranking conducted in December 2024, Boniface placed fourth with a total following of 973,780, trailing behind Omar Marmoush, Dennis Undav, and El-Bilal Toure.
In the 2025 ranking, he secured third place behind VfL Stuttgart’s El-Bilal Toure, who topped the list with over one million added followers. Bayern star Michael Olise (23), with an increase of approximately 398,000 followers, claimed second place.

With 532.6K followers on X, 1 million on Instagram, 1.5 million on Facebook, and 855K on TikTok, Boniface ranks as the sixth most-followed Nigerian footballer across social media platforms.
With reduced playing time and the departure of manager Xabi Alonso, the Nigerian forward is widely anticipated to leave the BayArena during the upcoming summer transfer window.
