Following the completion of his move to Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen is now certifiably Africa’s most expensive footballer ever.
The 2023 CAF Player of the Year was welcomed back to Istanbul to great fanfare on Wednesday, with supporters thronging the Turkish champions’ returning €75 million striker, acquired from Serie A side Napoli following months of tense negotiations and a seemingly interminable wait.
However, even beyond his transfer fee, the figures for the Osimhen salary package, as well as his bonuses, are simply eye-watering.

Galatasaray publicly announce Victor Osimhen salary
In an unprecedented move, Galatasaray took to social media on Thursday to announce their financial commitments to the 26-year-old.
Going by the club’s statement, the Osimhen salary stands at €21 million yearly, gross. This is based on his income bracket, which taxes at 40 percent. The net figure – the actual figure he will get to take home, as it were – is given as €15 million yearly.
In addition to this, the Nigeria international will also receive €6m every year in bonuses for the duration of his four-year contract.

What is Victor Osimhen's new weekly wage at Galatasaray?
So, now we know the Osimhen salary figure, we can further break it down in order to determine his weekly wage by dividing by the number of weeks in a year.
On a weekly basis, he will earn a gross wage of €403,846.15, of which €288,461.53 will actually hit his bank account.
How much does Victor Osimhen earn in one second?
Armed with these figures, we can go even more granular to try and figure out how much Osimhen would be paid for every minute, as well as every second of his time at Galatasaray. But, since we are going this route, let us dispense with the gross and focus solely on the ‘alert’ that the former Napoli man will be getting on his phone.
Going by his calculated net weekly wage, here is how it breaks down for Osimhen.
- Per minute: €28.61
- Per second: 54 cents (US)

Going by the current exchange rates, every minute, Osimhen earns N52,928; every second, he earns N837.
Assuming, as a professional footballer, he gets the recommended eight hours of sleep nightly, between going to bed and waking up the following morning, the Super Eagles star would have earned N25.4 million. Just while sleeping.
