Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has vowed to continue to give his best to Galatasaray following their emotional gesture towards him on Tuesday, Afrik-Foot reports.
Galatasaray welcomed Liverpool to Istanbul for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday. But before the game started, the fans displayed a tifo for Osimhen.
On it was a portrait of the Super Eagles striker wearing a Galatasaray jersey and holding his daughter, while his late mother watched from above.
Osimhen, who is known to love his family, was emotional at the sight of the tifo from the fans and was moved to tears as the Champions League anthem was being sung before the kickoff.
He eventually went on to provide the assist for the only goal of the game, which was scored by Mario Lemina in the 7th minute.

He shared the picture of the tifo and wrote, “The night I struggled to hold back tears was very emotional for me.
”I sincerely say that witnessing the love shown by Galatasaray fans is something I’ll never forget until the end of my life.
”From the first day I arrived, you’ve welcomed not just me, but my family and loved ones with great love and respect.
”Moments like these remind me that football is more than just a game. Football is love, loyalty, and togetherness. I promise that every time I step onto the field, I’ll continue to fight with all my might for this badge, this club, and our magnificent fans.
”Thank you for making this night unforgettable. We are a family.”
Turkish football fans are known to be diehards. In fact, they have one of the most volatile fanbases in Europe.

The love for Osimhen is not far-fetched, as he has consistently delivered, justifying the €75 million that was paid for him last summer. This season, he has contributed 18 goals and seven assists in 27 appearances for the reigning Turkish champions.
However, his job is far from being done. There is still the matter of the second leg of their fixture against Liverpool at Anfield next week. Osimhen has to be brilliant for his team to stand a chance.
Galatasaray are also in the run-in for the Super Lig title. They are the defending champions of the league. But if they lose it, that would surely draw ire from some sections of the fans.
