Victor Osimhen at the double as Galatasaray cruise past Sivasspor

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen was the standout performer as Galatasaray moved a step closer to lifting the Turkish Süper Lig title with a dominant 4-1 victory over Sivasspor on Saturday.

The Nigerian striker netted a brace as the league leaders made easy work of their visitors in a one-sided encounter.

Lucas Torreira opened the scoring in the 9th minute, setting the tone early for the capital side. Osimhen doubled the lead just six minutes later, tapping home to make it 2-0.

Barış Alper Yılmaz added a third in the 21st minute before Osimhen grabbed his second of the night in the 31st minute to make it 4-0. It was a complete demolition job within the first half hour.

Sivasspor pulled one back through Rey Manaj two minutes later, but it did little to change the tide of the match.

Osimhen thought he had completed his hat-trick, but his third goal was ruled out for offside.

There were no goals in the second half as Galatasaray comfortably saw out the game to remain firmly in control of the title race.

Osimhen's performance in numbers against Sivasspor

The 26-year-old started the match and showed his quality once again, scoring his 23rd and 24th goals of the season. He was substituted in the 70th minute for Dries Mertens.

He had four shots on target and missed two big chances.

Likewise, he also made one key pass and completed seven out of eleven passes, giving him a pass accuracy of 64 percent.

Osimhen attempted one long ball and one cross, with were both unsuccessful.

He was flagged offside once and also recorded one interception.

In terms of duels, he won three out of five on the ground and claimed the only aerial ball he contested.

It was another solid performance from the Nigerian striker, who continues to play a key role in Galatasaray's title push.
