Victor Osimhen transfer: How superstar can be Galatasaray’s hero again even if he snubs Turkish giants

Published on by

As Galatasaray wait on Victor Osimhen’s answer to their contract offer, the possibility that he could turn them down is an inescapable reality.

The 26-year-old was superb in the colours of Cim Bom in 2024/25, leading them to a league and cup double while breaking Mario Jardel’s record for goals in a season in Turkiye.

This led the club to proclaim Osimhen their biggest priority in the summer window, and while it remains to be seen if the striker similarly prioritises them, even his rejection may end up being a net positive for Galatasaray.

Osimhen’s Al Hilal rejection could weaken Gala’s biggest rival

Saudi giants Al Hilal have, for most of the summer, been seen as the biggest competitor for the Nigeria international’s signature.

However, with Osimhen repeatedly knocking back their offers, reports suggest that Simone Inzaghi’s side are finally prepared to pivot. The new object of their desire: Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Morocco striker finished six goals short of Osimhen in the Super Lig scoring stakes last term, and has been earmarked as a Plan B by Al Hilal, according to DAZN as reported by NTV.

Should the transfer proceed, it would significantly weaken Fenerbahce, who are not only Galatasaray’s biggest rivals, but have run them closest in the league over the last two seasons.
