Why so quiet on the Ademola Lookman transfer front?

While transfer rumours continue to swirl around Victor Osimhen, a lot less is known about Ademola Lookman and where his future lies.

The Atalanta hitman has been earmarked for departure from Bergamo since February, where a falling-out with former manager Gian Piero Gasperini led to a breakdown of trust.

Gasperini’s departure to Roma has now increased the likelihood of a stay at the Gewiss Stadium, but that is not to say that new boss Ivan Juric can count on keeping the Nigeria international without a fight.

Where is Ademola Lookman going this summer?

As they seek to fashion a squad to manager Antonio Conte’s liking, Serie A champions Napoli have a strong interest in Lookman this summer.

The likes of Mattia Zaccagni and Rafael Leao have been linked to the Neapolitan side, but the 27-year-old appears to top their list of attacking reinforcements. It is understood that his versatility – he is able to play on either flank, behind the striker, or as part of a front two – is the Nigeria international’s trump card.

Atalanta are reportedly seeking a transfer fee in the region of €50 million for their prize asset, whose contract runs until the summer of 2027.
