Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi delivered an assured midfield performance as Leicester City ended a dismal home run with a 2-0 victory over fellow relegated side Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Club legend Jamie Vardy opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before Jordan Ayew added a second just before half-time to seal an emotional win for the Foxes—their first on home turf in 10 games.
The Foxes came into the match desperate to end a dismal run of form at home, having lost nine consecutive Premier League games at the King Power Stadium without scoring—conceding 22 goals in the process.

Only Wolves in the 1980s have endured a longer home losing streak in the top flight. The Foxes had managed just one point from their last six matches, while fellow relegated side Southampton had picked up only two over the same stretch.
Ndidi dominates midfield with precision and grit in standout display
Ndidi delivered a commanding midfield performance in Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Southampton, underlining his value with an all-action display.
The 28-year-old completed 56 of his 59 passes—an impressive 95% accuracy—while also executing all three attempted long balls to perfection. He showed attacking intent with one shot off target and another blocked, though he did miss a big chance that could have added gloss to the scoreline.
Defensively, Ndidi was typically industrious, winning three of five ground duels and contributing two clearances, two interceptions, and three tackles.

Despite being dribbled past once and winning just two of six aerial duels, his ability to disrupt play and recycle possession gave Leicester stability in midfield.
The performance was a timely reminder of his quality, especially as transfer speculation around his future intensifies. On a day the Foxes needed leadership, Ndidi stepped up and delivered with control and composure.
