The possibility of Wilfred Ndidi joining Manchester United has dropped significantly, as Besiktas are unwilling to part ways with the Super Eagles star, Afrik-Foot reports.
Ndidi only joined the Black Eagles from Leicester City last summer, but the past three months have been filled with reports linking the 29-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford.
The Nigerian international has been touted as a potential short-term replacement for Casemiro, who is expected to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

However, despite the ongoing rumors, no concrete progress has been made. In the meantime, Ndidi has established himself as an indispensable figure in the Besiktas lineup, even earning the role of vice-captain.
According to a fresh update from Askin Ceylan, the Turkish giants have decided to halt all transfer negotiations until the end of the campaign.
This move is intended to ensure the team finishes the season strongly. They are currently sitting eight points adrift of a UEFA Champions League qualification spot with seven games remaining, and Besiktas are focused on displacing arch-rivals Fenerbahce in the standings.

In addition, the club has reportedly decided against selling any key assets this summer—including Ndidi. This stance suggests that the Super Eagles star’s dream move to Manchester United may be on hold.
How Manchester United Could Still Pry Wilfred Ndidi from Besiktas
Despite Besiktas’ public “not-for-sale” stance, Manchester United might still find a way to orchestrate a deal, though it will certainly require a significant financial effort.
The Black Eagles spent €8 million to secure Ndidi’s services from Leicester City last summer. As such, they are only likely to entertain offers that represent a substantial profit on that investment.

Given that Ndidi is approaching 30, a move to Manchester United would likely be viewed as a short-term solution.
As such, the Red Devils could potentially propose a lucrative loan deal with a mandatory purchase option to test Besiktas’ resolve.
With a healthy transfer budget and the lure of European football at Old Trafford, United certainly have the financial muscle to make a deal happen. However, with Ndidi still having two years left on the three-year contract he signed last summer, Besiktas remain in a strong negotiating position.
