Wilfred Ndidi looks increasingly likely to leave Leicester City this summer, with the Foxes preparing for another stint in the Championship following relegation.
The Nigeria international, one of the club’s longest-serving players, is available for just £9 million due to a release clause in the new three-year contract he signed at the start of the season.
That clause was activated after Leicester’s relegation was confirmed following a 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Easter Sunday.

With uncertainty surrounding manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future and a significant overhaul expected at the King Power Stadium, Ndidi’s departure seems inevitable.
The midfielder turned down offers from Marseille and Everton last summer, choosing to stay loyal to Leicester, but is unlikely to remain for another campaign in England’s second tier.
Wilfred Ndidi still posting impressive numbers despite decline
Ndidi, who joined the Foxes from Genk in 2017, has been a pillar of consistency. He has made 300 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals and assisting 21.
In his time with Leicester, he has won the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and played a key role in their 2020/21 run to the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Over the past two seasons, the 28-year-old has remained productive, contributing directly to 17 goals (7 goals, 10 assists) in 63 appearances. However, with Leicester 18 points off safety and only four games left, relegation is no longer a question but a reality.
Ndidi’s availability for a modest fee is expected to spark interest across Europe once again, with clubs circling as the Foxes prepare for another summer of exits.
