Kaizer Chiefs have been hit with fresh injury concerns ahead of their crunch tie with Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
Chiefs have enjoyed a perfect start to the season with three straight wins against Stellenbosch, Polokwane City as well as Richards Bay and are keen to add champions Sundowns to their list of casualties.
However, they will have to do it without four players who are out due to injury and illnesses suffered in the past week.
Defender Aden McCarthy, who pulled up with a hamstring during their clash with Richards Bay, is leading the list of absentees from the top clash on Wednesday.

“About Aden, he hasn’t been training since that day. The medical staff are working hard to put him back on the field but we will have to wait and see how he does tomorrow [Tuesday] to decide whether he will be part of the game or not,” Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze told the media on Monday as per iDiski Times.
Kaze then confirmed that left-backs Nkanyiso Shinga and Bradley are down with a flu while new signing Etiosa Ighodaro is out injured.
“We have Shinga and Cross who have been sick the last few days. Ighodaro was also injured at training two days ago. But apart from that, everyone is well and ready for the game,” he added.

The four will be joined on the sidelines Rushwin Dortley and Given Msimango who are out until next month as they continue their recovery from their long-term injuries.
“Those are injuries that have been for a long time. Msimango is doing better, but it’s not players that we believe will be with us at least this month, probably Msimango next month and Dortley also later next month,” Kaze further said.
With McCarthy, man of the match against Stellenbosch and Polokwane, absent, Zitha Kwinika is likely to partner captain Inacio Miguel in central defence.
