The Nedbank Cup enters the quarter-final with some mouth-watering matches lined up between March 8 and 9.
Three of the four matches pits PSL sides with all the ‘Big three’ Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi in action but still separated at this stage.

SuperSport United vs Orlando Pirates (15.00)

Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United will be facing off for the third time this season with the Buccaneers having won the other two encounters.
Pirates won 3-1 in extra-time in the Nedbank Cup last August before a 2-0 victory in the league in October and they are favourites to win again given SuperSport have been struggling this campaign.
Matsatsantsa looked like they had woken up from their slumber when they hammered Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 on February 18 but have reverted to type in their last two matches, losing 1-0 to Magesi, before a goalless draw with AmaZulu.
Scoring goals has been SuperSport’s biggest problem and if they could not score past second from bottom Magesi, it is not clear how they will manage it against Pirates.
Prediction: SuperSport 0-2 Orlando Pirates
Stellenbosch vs Kaizer Chiefs (18.00)

Also facing off for the third time are Stellenbosch and Kaizer Chiefs, who have played each other twice in the space of one month, this year.
Chiefs won both matches, beating Stellies 2-2 thanks to Wandile Duba’s double on January 8 before new signing Glody Lilepo handed them a 1-0 away win on February 7 but heading into the third meeting, Stellenbosch are in better form.
Steve Barker’s men have not lost in their last six matches, winning four and drawing two, while Chiefs just ended their two-game losing run with a laboured 1-0 win over struggling Magesi FC on Tuesday.
It points to another low-scoring match between the two teams but this could be the game in which Stellenbosch get their revenge and kill off any hopes of a trophy for Chiefs.
Prediction: Stellenbosch 1-0 Kaizer Chiefs
Mamelodi Sundowns vs Sekhukhune United (20.00)

Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United take on each other just two weeks after their last meeting, which saw the Brazilians win 4-2.
This follows a 3-0 victory for Sundowns over Babina Noko in November 2024 and it is hard to see beyond a third win for the Brazilians.
Coach Miguel Cardoso is likely to make many changes to give some of his big hitters a rest, considering there are two tough league matches coming up the week after.
That will likely reduce the winning margin but Sundowns are firm favourites to get the job done.
Prediction: Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 Sekhukhune United

Durban City vs Marumo Gallants (15.00)

Durban City are the only lower league team still left in the Nedbank Cup and they are looking to go one better and make it to the semi-final.
The Motsepe Championship leaders have been impressive in the second tier as they eye promotion to the PSL and the motivation of going all the way and lifting the Nedbank Cup adds to their belief.
Marumo Gallants, however, have experience after reaching the Telkom Knockout semi-final this season and will be keen to reach the last four of another tournament.
It points to a potentially high scoring match given both sides will give it everything and it can go either way.
Prediction: Durban City 2-2 Marumo Gallants
