Riveiro hails Orlando Pirates supporters for pushing them through congested fixtures

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro is delighted that the supporters are coming out in big numbers to push them amid their tight schedule.

Pirates are challenging on multiple fronts which means playing in midweek and at the weekend every week, something that is testing the depth and quality of their squad.

However, Riveiro is happy that they have the support of their fans to count on as it is acting as an extra source of motivation for the players to put in impressive performances, even when they are tired.

Riveiro buzzing over overwhelming Bucs support

“If you come home and the people are with you from the beginning and they are pushing and cheering and they are happy, then you do not feel the fatigue anymore,” said Riveiro after watching his team beat AmaZulu 2-1 on Friday.

“In every game and in this congested period, having the people around, now there is no doubt or hesitation from the fans, it doesn’t matter how the game is going, they are all behind us.

“Moments like these are crucial and there are going to be moments in the season that they are going to play a very important role for the guys.”

What is next in store for Orlando Pirates?

Pirates’ win over AmaZulu saw them make it five straight league wins, taking them to the top of the table, but there is little time to rest as they will be back in action again on Tuesday October 29, when they face TS Galaxy.

The Buccaneers are also in the CAF Champions League whose group stage action will begin in November, meaning their work is cut out if they want to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the PSL title.
