With Ademola Lookman, all things are possible for Inter – Legendary UCL-winning manager

As Inter continue to plot their path to an Ademola Lookman transfer, their pursuit has received approval from an unusual source.

Arrigo Sacchi is one of the most respected voices in world football, but it was with Inter’s city rivals AC Milan that he wrote his legend, winning the Champions League in 1989 and 1990. However, the 79-year-old has spoken with admiration of Inter’s pursuit of the reigning CAF Player of the Year.

Lookman is understood to have agreed terms with Inter, but has yet to accede to pressure from the beaten Champions League finalists to force a move.

Could Lookman be the missing link in Inter UCL pursuit?

Sacchi, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Tutto Mercato Web, praised the choice of Lookman, touting the 27-year-old as a “phenomenal sprinter” with “quality” that Inter could leverage.

When asked if the Atalanta man could coexist with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, Inter’s established strike duo, the former Milan and Italy boss responded in the affirmative. “Anything is possible, as long as everyone sacrifices themselves for the good of the team,” he insisted.

“But to field a trio like that, the forwards will have to work very hard when pressing, otherwise the team will suffer.”

Inter have had a bid of €40 million knocked back, as Atalanta continue to hold out for their €50 million asking price.
