Super Eagles defender Ola Aina scored his second goal of the season in style, playing a pivotal role in Nottingham Forest's vital 2-0 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Going into the game, Nuno Espírito Santo's side had won three of their last four matches and were eager to maintain their good form.
Aina gave the away side the lead in the 38th minute, expertly converting a driven cross from Neco Williams with a precise strike into the bottom-left corner.
Anthony Elanga doubled Forest's lead six minutes into the second half, capitalising on a defensive blunder to make it 2-0 and hand Brentford their first home defeat of the season.
The result sees Forest temporarily occupy third place with 31 points, ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal, who sit on 30 points and face Crystal Palace later on Saturday.
Aina's all-round performance shines against Brentford
Ola Aina delivered an impressive all-around performance at the Gtech Community Stadium, displaying his versatility and effectiveness on both ends of the pitch. With 56 touches and a passing accuracy of 79% (21 out of 29 passes), Aina contributed significantly to Nottingham Forest's build-up play.
His attacking threat was evident with a goal from his sole shot on target and another effort narrowly missing the mark.
Defensively, Aina was equally impactful, winning four out of nine ground duels and one aerial duel, alongside making six clearances, three interceptions, and two tackles.
His two successful dribbles out of three attempts further highlighted his ability to drive the team forward when needed.
Aina, who has become a key figure in Nuno's setup this season, has made 17 appearances for the Tricky Trees, starting all of them and scoring two goals while averaging 86 minutes per game.
