Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi dazzled and Calvin Bassey stood firm as Fulham secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brentford on Sunday at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.
Raúl Jiménez opened the scoring for the visitors in the 16th minute, but Fulham’s lead was short-lived as Bryan Mbeumo struck an equaliser just six minutes later. The Brentford forward then had a golden opportunity to put his side ahead from the penalty spot two minutes after his goal but failed to convert.
Yoane Wissa put Thomas Frank’s side ahead in the 43rd minute, but Fulham responded in the second half through substitute Tom Cairney, who levelled the score in the 68th minute.

Just two minutes later, fellow substitute Harry Wilson netted what proved to be the winner, completing a swift turnaround for the Cottagers.
Fulham entered the match having secured just three points from their previous five Premier League outings, a poor run of form that had seen them slip to 11th in the standings.
Iwobi’s creativity and Bassey’s defensive strength power Fulham’s win
Alex Iwobi featured for 66 minutes, showcasing his role in Fulham’s midfield with a solid 77% pass accuracy (17 of 22 passes completed) and contributing both offensively and defensively.
Despite a modest duel success rate, he remained involved in key moments, including a blocked shot and a crucial tackle and clearance.
Meanwhile, Calvin Bassey was a rock at the back, demonstrating his defensive prowess with seven clearances, an interception, and a tackle.

His passing was highly efficient, completing 34 of 39 attempts (87%), while maintaining dominance in ground and aerial duels. Bassey’s consistent defensive contributions helped Fulham hold firm in a tightly contested match.
