Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target for Galatasaray in their clash with rivals Besiktas in the Turkish Süper Lig on Monday.

The 25-year-old scored the second goal as Gala ran out 2–1 winners over their fierce rivals in the Istanbul Derby.

Osimhen started the game and was a constant threat alongside Italian striker Mauro Icardi, creating chances early on.

Galatasaray took the lead in the 13th minute through Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez, who scored from a Gabriel Sara assist, helping them seize control early on.

No more goals were scored in the first half, but that changed in the second when Osimhen rose powerfully to head home a cross from Gabriel Sara in the 67th minute.

Ernest Muçi made it a grandstand finish by scoring in the final minute, but Galatasaray held on for the three points.

Osimhen’s goal was his fourth in the Süper Lig since joining on loan from Napoli.

He was substituted in the 82nd minute to a rousing ovation from the Galatasaray fans.

Galatasaray remain top of the Super Lig table with 28 points from 10 matches.

Victor Osimhen’s performance in numbers

The striker started the game and lasted 82 minutes, scoring the second goal for the league leaders.

He had four shots on target, two shots off target, and recorded 40 touches in an impressive performance.

Osimhen missed one big chance but also created one for his teammates.

His passing was solid, completing 10 out of 14 attempts for a 71 percent accuracy rate.

In aerial duels, he won two out of four contests, while on the ground he won four of his 14 duels.

He made a single tackle in the game.
