Galatasaray assistant manager Ismael Garcia Gomez has praised Victor Osimhen for his professionalism, humility, and seamless integration into the squad, following his arrival at the Turkish club.
The 25-year-old Osimhen joined the Turkish giants on loan after failing to secure a permanent move away from Napoli on deadline day.
After months of speculation surrounding the former Napoli man, both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) failed to meet Napoli's valuation for their prized asset. Consequently, the two clubs missed out on securing their top target before the summer transfer window closed, with the striker ultimately joining Turkish giants.
The Super Eagles forward has emerged as a revelation in the Super Lig since his season-long loan move from Napoli in September.
Osimhen has made seven goal contributions for the Turkish champions in seven games across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists, while averaging 69 minutes per game.
Garcia: Osimhen's integration and winning mentality key to Galatasaray's success
Speaking to the BBC, Garcia Gomez highlighted Osimhen's smart approach to joining Galatasaray, noting how the striker quickly adapted to the team’s culture and playing style.
“He has been smart, humble, coming to our club. The main part of squad has been together for two years, winning back-to-back championships.,” he said.
“But he came in a smart way, trying to be a part of it, not as a typical star. He was not expecting the club will adapt to him, but he has been very humble and hard working.
“He's come from a part of Italy in the south which is passionate, which is very close culturally to Turkey. It has not been a big change.
“He was a key part in the Scudetto, now he is coming to a winning club. It is not easy to win Super Lig back to back. He is a winner, that makes it simple and smooth.”
