Granada’s impressive season in the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino continued on Saturday as they dismantled Deportivo 5-0 at the Ciudad Deportivo del Granada.
Nigeria's Edna Imade was once again in the spotlight, adding her name to the scoresheet in what has been a prolific run of form.
Imade’s clinical strike in the 60th minute sealed the victory for Granada, who dominated from start to finish.
The Super Falcons hopeful latched onto a pinpoint cross from Lauri Requena Sanchez and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner, marking her eighth league goal of the season.
The goal means Imade has now scored in three consecutive matches, following efforts against Badalona and Levante.
The Morocco-born striker was a constant threat throughout the game, recording two shots on target and one blocked effort. She even came close to adding another but saw her header saved and a late chance narrowly miss the target.
Granada led Imade dominate from the first whistle
Granada opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Laura Pérez, who nodded home a cross from Alexia Fernández. Ten minutes later, Isabel Álvarez doubled the lead after pouncing on Cristina Postigo’s headed assist.
The Nazaríes carried their momentum into the second half, with Álvarez turning provider for Postigo’s strike in the 49th minute. Ornella Vignola added a fourth goal before Imade wrapped up the scoring.
Beyond her goal, Imade showcased her aerial prowess, winning six of seven aerial duels. She was also involved in ground battles, coming out on top in three of five duels. Imade completed 13 of her 24 passes, delivered three key passes, and contributed defensively with three tackles and a clearance.
Granada will now turn their focus to Madrid, with Imade looking to extend her red-hot form.
