Ademola Lookman has provided a timely boost for the Super Eagles after resuming individual training on Thursday.
The Nigeria international sustained a left knee injury during a training session on January 28, ahead of Atalanta’s UEFA Champions League clash with Barcelona.
Manager Gian Piero Gasperini later confirmed in an interview that Lookman was expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
The Atalanta forward was initially feared to miss next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to injury but is now on the path to recovery, easing concerns over his availability.

The 27-year-old's injury return Lookman’s injury could also impact the Super Eagles’ bid for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The three-time African champions are set to face Rwanda on March 21 and Zimbabwe on March 25. With their precarious position in the qualifiers, securing maximum points in both fixtures will be essential.
Currently fifth in the Group C standings, the Super Eagles are still searching for their first victory after four matchdays, with three draws and one defeat to their name.
