His injury forced him to miss Lazio’s 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash.

However, Dele-Bashiru is back with the squad, indicating that his return to competitive action is imminent.

Reports in Italy suggest he could be included in the matchday squad against Udinese, though he is unlikely to start.

Lazio’s medical staff want to ease him back into action, with a possible starting role in the Europa League second-leg tie against Plzen next week.

The 24-year-old has been impressive since joining Lazio on loan from Turkish club Hatayspor.

His versatility allows him to play both as an attacking and defensive midfielder.

Lazio, currently fifth in Serie A with 50 points from 27 matches, will benefit from his return as they push for a top-four finish.

His presence will definitely be a major boost for Lazio as they continue the fight for a European place in Serie A.

Dele-Bashiru’s fitness boost is also good news for Nigeria.

He was named in the Super Eagles’ provisional squad for the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, giving new head coach Eric Chelle another midfield option.
